The Soft Moon is an American post-punk band from Oakland, consisting of main producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist Luis Vasquez. The Soft Moon’s music has also been described as darkwave, minimal wave and industrial rock.
The Soft Moon was founded by Vasquez as a solo project in 2009. He released two singles, “Breathe the Fire” and “Parallels”, while working on his debut Self Titled LP. Prior to its release, Vasquez directed his energy into building a band around his project with the aim of delivering a full sensory experience within the context of live performance. The Soft Moon integrate visual elements on stage to accompany performances, which frequently include light shows.
Berber Theunissen
Equipped with her Pentax 6×7, Berber Theunissen (Netherlands, 1989) shoots portraits, still lives and landscapes. She uses photography to create some kind of safeguard. Berber documents the situations she has little grasp of. She captures the moments, emotions and memories in which these intense emotional situations were present or revolving around her. She reflect upon her own struggles by looking how her friends and people who surround her cope with the same situations and emotions. For Berber photography is a tool to look at her own life in an objective way.Berber was born in a small village in The Netherlands. When she was 18, she packed her bags and moved to Amsterdam. Where she graduated Cum Laude from the Photo Academy. After eight years surrounded by the chaotic city life, she really started missing the woods, the quiet and the smells of nature. January 1st of 2015 she moved back to the dutch countryside, the surrounding that inspires her most.
