Ian Davenport

Born 1966, Sidcup, Kent, England.  

Ian Davenport trained at Northwich College of Art and Design from 1984-85 and then at Goldsmith’s College of Art in London from 1985-88. His work was included in the group exhibitions showcasing new talent Young Contemporaries in 1985 and the British Art Show in 1990. He was nominated for the Turner Prize in 1991. Recent commissions include a wall painting for the Tate Triennial in 2003 and the new Selfridges in Birmingham in 2004. A major solo exhibition was organised by the Ikon Gallery in Birmingham in 2004.
