MONEY presents “Planet Paradise” a collection of macro-botanic images captured on transparency film and digitally printed, by The Icon, onto metallic archival light jet prints. The finished print is plexi-mounted, creating a striking, contemporary, high-gloss, floating floral effect. After years of extensive shooting and test printing, Catherine perfected “Planet Paradise” which speaks of the beauty in this world. Soft and ethereal, the images are a sensitive expression of our natural world. Presently, there are twelve images from the Planet Paradise Collection on exhibit in the lobby of the Ostrich Farm Lofts in South Pasadena.
Catherine, a graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography, began her career as a commercial photographer working for clients such as Kraft, Hershey’s, Campbell’s, Lands End and Sears. Catherine recently segued into the world of fine art and poetry with the “Planet Paradise” collection for which she was honored with a “Certificate of Achievement” from the International Photography Awards organization and deemed by the Photo District News as a “Photographer to Watch.” Catherine is known for the creative presentation of her art and for finding new and innovative solutions beyond traditional printing methods that add a unique dimension to her body of work. Most recently, produced in tandem with The Icon, was a self-portrait project printed on a delicate, fragile and never before used substrate. Imagine a self-portrait of a photographer printed on lens cleaning tissue. Perfection! (source:.iconla.com
