“Thanks to Luka for ideas and cooperation. His body is not strong, but with his talent and courage he can be inspiration for all of us.” ( Matej Peljhan )

A caring psychologist with an interest in photography helped a young student with muscular dystrophy see himself playing sports and taking adventures. Luka, 12, can only perform a limited range of motions. After expressing a desire to see himself on adventures, photographer and psychologist Matej Peljhan devised a way to take his photo in a world where that would be possible. Peljhan used a drape and props laid on the floor to create a scene in which Luka could run, climb, and play. In the seven photos, he cruises down a hill on a skateboard, shoots a basketball in a Lakers jersey, and busts a move breakdancing. The series, called “Le Petit Prince,” is one of Peljhan’s several works that feature a child with special needs.
